Chanel Flagship Store
Interior Design Studio IV
Spring 2022
Project Information:
Chanel is looking to open a flagship store in Seoul, Korea. This location will have exclusive merchandise from the Chanel brand and special presentations for V.I.P.s. This new location will uphold the standards of the brand and will also utilize the advanced technology that is used in Korea. The third floor will be a studio apartment for the flagship designer.
Design Statement:
In this design, I have created a loop layout for consumers to shop so they can naturally move through the store to see all the products displayed. The flooring emphasizes the layout with the contrast of the black and white flooring that creates the loop around the grand staircase. I have upheld the brand's standards with the controlled use of its achromatic color palette. Lighting is another vital aspect of retail design, so adjustable recessed lighting opens up the ceiling and allows lighting flexibility. It is essential to design with sustainability in mind so that finishes, materials, and furniture meet the following standards: NSF 140, CRI Green Label Plus, Cradle to Cradle, etc.
